Injection Molding Materials

ABS, PC, PC/ABS, PA66, POM, TPU, PBT, PP, PE and PVC. Discuss grade, environment, finish and inspection requirements.

Injection molding materials

The right resin depends on how the part is used, its working environment and the appearance you need. Tell us the application first; the grade follows.

Material Typical use Notes
ABS Enclosures, covers, cosmetic parts Good impact and surface finish; heat resistance is moderate.
PC Clear or tough housings, covers High impact and heat resistance; drying and gate design matter.
PC/ABS Electronic housings, appliance parts Balance of impact, heat and appearance.
PA66 Structural parts, brackets, automotive Strength and heat resistance; moisture uptake needs attention.
POM Gears, sliders, precision parts Low friction and good dimensional stability.
TPU Grips, seals, overmolded parts Flexible; bond and process need review.
PBT Electrical parts, connectors Good electrical properties and dimensional stability.
PP Living hinges, containers, caps Tough and chemical resistant; lower stiffness than ABS.
PE Bottles, caps, low-friction parts Good chemical resistance; soft, waxy surface.
PVC Rigid profiles, electrical housings Flame-retardant grades available; processing needs care.

Specific grades, UL-recognized materials and compliance documents are provided with the quotation.

How to choose

  • Function — what the part does and what loads it sees.
  • Environment — temperature, sunlight, chemicals, moisture.
  • Appearance — color, texture, gloss, transparency.
  • Assembly — snap fits, screws, bonding, overmolding.
  • Compliance — RoHS, REACH, UL and flame-rating documents are provided with the quotation.

Material questions to answer

Send the application, working temperature, expected life, appearance target and any specified grade. If the grade is open, describe the environment and we will discuss options.

FAQ

Can you recommend a material?

Yes, based on the application and environment. Final grade and compliance are confirmed for the specific project.

Can you use a customer-supplied resin?

Possibly. Discuss the grade, documentation and process requirements before committing.
